SeaCity Museum

About

The SeaCity Museum stands as an interactive museum in Southampton England that represents local maritime history by focusing on the Royal Mail Steamer (RMS) Titanic. The museum opened its doors on April 10th, 2012 to commemorate the Titanic’s departure from Southampton exactly 100 years earlier.

Today, the building operates as SeaCity Museum but originally functioned as a magistrates’ court and police station and has received Grade II listed protections. Visitors can find several important items at the SeaCity Museum including the Crew Wall together with Captain Smith’s sword followed by a first-class breakfast menu and the Titanic’s last moment’s pocket watch.

At the museum, visitors can see two exceptional archaeological finds: the Saxon burial collection and the Roman coin collection in addition to viewing the contemporary Titanic Lego exhibit. These interactive displays at SeaCity Museum establish a powerful bridge between historic narratives and contemporary experiences which help people learn about Southampton’s timeless heritage.
